I am in the USA legally from Canada on a TN visa and I am worried about how the amnesty will affect the process for legal immigrants Bloomfield, New Jersey
I am one of those legal immigrants stuck in an outrageous back log, one after the other. Now waiting for the backlog of green cards. Totally incensed by how America is rewarding illegals and leaving us who pay high taxes and abide by all laws, out in the cold. Truly astounding for a democratic nation! Sherman Oaks CA .
Born in Norway. Naturalized US citizen. Parents came to US after waiting three years to get visas. It is unfair to family members waiting in line while illegals have jumped to front of line. Baltimore, MD
I have a sister-in-law from Korea and before she could come into the US she had to go through extensive health exams as well as background checks. Obviously the people coming here now go through none of those and they are bringing disease into our country. I really wish that more people from other countries were allowed to come here as it would diversify the country more. Legal immigrants have to wait a long time to come here, but the illegals here now do not and that is not fair. . I immigrated to the US in 1993 legally with my ten year old son. We spent significant time, effort, and money to keep our immigration status legal. He did not qualify for in state tuition so I moved in with my sister fo pay for his college. My son could not graduate culinary school because an externship was required but it was illegal for him to work off campus on a student visa. He now has a large student loan and no degree. Since he no longer qualified for a student visa he went back to Canada. He misses his home and friends in Texas. I miss him terribly but I have since married an American so I stayed here. It will take many years for me to sponsor him to return to his home where I raised him. We accept that because it is the law. I also believe it is wrong to punish law abiding immigrants by giving preferential treatment to law breaking illegal aliens.
